Hello all! It's been a while since we've had a Featured Feathered Friend, so I'll make it a good one. Here we have a male Wood Duck seen at the Okeeheelee Nature Center in Palm Beach. This picture was taken almost a year ago in February 2010.
This is an incredibly stunning duck, or bird in general, for that matter. No matter how many times you've seen one, it never gets old. Its striking, contrasting colors are only enhanced by its warrior-helmet-looking head. One can't help but gaze in awe at a male Wood Duck. So please enjoy this week's beautiful FFF! Happy Birding!
